Nightshade

“Nightshade” is an upcoming unofficial charity zine project celebrating Blake Belladonna. We focus on her character as a whole. The project’s theme will be based on her life and adventures in different timelines throughout the entire series. Our intention for this project is to celebrate, adore, and spread happiness to all her fans out there!

It is essentially a magazine. In this case, it is a fan-made project. Zines are usually not-for-profit, and are made out of the interests and passions of fans with media creators: artists, writers, and cosplayers alike!

The “Nightshade” project is for charity. All proceeds after production and shipping costs will be donated to the Public Justice Center, an organization that pursues systemic change to build a just society. They use legal advocacy tools to pursue social justice, economic and race equity, and fundamental human rights for people who are struggling to provide for their basic needs.

All contributors are guaranteed at least a digital PDF and physical copy of the zine. Ideally, we would like to compensate contributors with a full bundle and paid shipping if we make enough profits. However, if the zine does not break even, all merch items will be available at production price.

Yes! It’ll be given through a form of screenshots on a Tumblr post and on a Twitter thread. We understand that this is the most important aspect of our zine. We will also post private and public verification forms for further proof.

Yes. This project will be completely SFW! We will not allow any explicit nudity, gore, horror, abuse, extreme angst, etc. If you have any questions about this genre while creating your work, don’t hesitate to ask us!

The majority of our communication will be done through our Discord server, due to the organization opportunities that app offers. The ability to have everyone in one place to minimize the risk of missing someone when announcing important information.

If you do not have a Discord and would like to apply for the zine, we highly encourage you to make an account. Signing up is free, quick, and easy! They also offer an app download for iOS, Android, and PC. If you do not want to download or do not have space to do so, you can also use Discord directly through your internet browser.

We are looking for 35 to 40 contributors which include a few guest artists, a couple of guest writers, 25 to 30 artists, 5 to 10 writers, and 5 cosplayers!

Romantic ships are NOT encouraged. This zine solely focuses on Blake as a character from the series. Platonic ships are allowed so long as they are in the background.

The overall THEME of the “Nightshade” zine is Blake Belladonna’s time and adventures throughout the entire series— be it a canon-divergent idea between canon scenes or a slight hope for the future.
